The church is growing around the world and these congregations of new believers want to study the Bible together to learn how to grow in Christ and change their worlds with Christ. A whole new generation of pastors and Bible teachers are being trained to equip these new churches to meet the challenges of the present day.  Examples of what your gift can do in support of this ministry include:

$3,000 can give a motorcycle for an area minister who will work to train new pastors.

$1,000 can give the gift of a tin roof for a brand new church.

$125 can provide a bicycle for a local pastor to use to visit the two or three congregations he or she is leading.

$10 can provide a Bible and a Hymn book for a family.

In many places around the world parents are unable to send their children to school because of poverty or sickness. Examples of what your gift can do in answer to this critical need include:

$300 can cover the cost of an entire year’s education for a child in many of the countries where International Ministries’ missionaries work.

$50 can provide books, school supplies and subsidize teachers’ salaries so more children can attend classes!

Many families just need a little help so that they can have more and better food. The children will be healthier and parents will be able to sell some surplus in the markets so they can buy medicine and other necessities. Examples of what your gift can do in providing for a better life include:

$250 can provide a cow which gives milk and manure to improve the soil.

$50 can help a family buy, feed and care for a goat for a year. The next year they will have milk, manure and another goat to share with their neighbors.

A gift of $100 can help start a tree nursery so that families can raise fruit trees, palm oil trees, medicinal trees or coffee for sale.

Families need enough water to drink, to cook, to water their gardens and to wash. In many families the women spend up to one-half of their time finding and carrying water. When a village is able to dig a well or cap a spring, the health of the people improves dramatically. The children don’t get sick as often because they stay clean, and the families are able to grow more vegetables to eat and sell. Examples of what your gift can do in support of this life-sustaining necessity include:

$500 can provide a well which can supply a whole village.

$100 can provide the piping for a simple water system.

Your gifts to be used where most needed provide American Baptist International Ministries the opportunity to present the Good News of Jesus Christ while meeting basic human needs through cutting edge programs and partnerships in over 70 countries around the world.  These "undesignated" gifts allow programs to go forward in places that are not in the news spotlight but where families are still struggling to find hope in desperate situations.
