Volunteers in Global Mission

What does the face of a short term missionary look like? Is it the face of a teacher, a construction worker, a writer, a banker, a musician? Is it the face of a nurse, a seamstress, a cook, a parent, a student?

When you look in a mirror, do you see the face of a missionary? Short term missionaries come in all shapes, sizes and ages, and they come from all walks of life. Each one possesses unique gifts and talents. But what every short term missionary has in common is a desire to love and serve God and their sisters and brothers in prayerful, productive partnerships in every corner of the globe.

Perhaps you have sensed God tugging at your heart to tangibly give of yourself in fulfilling a short term mission opportunity, and you're eager to give. So perhaps that face in the mirror - your face - IS the face of a volunteer.  Could yours be the talents God needs? Could yours be the life He will transform so that, together with our brothers and sisters everywhere, we seek the coming fullness of God's reign? Pray about it. Think about it. Let Christ's love shine through you and reflect God's glory throughout the whole earth.

In addition to freely giving of your time and talents, what else is necessary to be a volunteer?
