Pray for Charles and Sara West, helping change the lives of children in Zambia.

May 2, 2012

Charles serves with the Baptist Convention of Zambia in the areas of educational ministries and leadership development. Sarah works with vulnerable and exploited women and children at risk. They will begin their U.S./Puerto Rico Home Assignment in June.

They write: Light and Salt.  That's what we're called to be.  People who can effect change! People who can make a difference in this world!  Sometimes that change is subtle, sometimes it's radical!

With your prayers and financial support  we are making a radical change in the lives of a whole community!  Through the WellSpring of Faith and Hope Community School (WOFAH), the community of Kalikiliki has a means to help change the lives of its children through education.  The school is a beacon of light in the community.  The children attending get a meal when there is enough money to purchase food and we are in the process of getting uniforms to identify the children with the WOFAH School. We received a donation of 250 bags of cement from Lafarge Cement Zambia in March of this year.  This was just the kick-start, the boost we needed, to get the building project going.  Lafarge Worldwide is present in 63 countries as well as in Zambia.  Their donation as part of their social responsibility in the development of Zambian people’s welfare has played a major role in helping this community to educate and raise up leaders as well as train a future workforce!

The community members of Kalikiliki are actively involved in the building project.  We were hoping to finish the build by the end of April, but it looks like the end of June might be a more realistic timeframe.  With the help of a strong PTA who have put in lots of sweat equity, the school building is going up and will produce strong future leaders.

WOFAH does not just offer academic knowledge in its education program.  At WOFAH, through our faithful teachers and religious education classes, the good news of the love of God, and the saving and transforming power of Jesus Christ, is introduced. Bringing people to faith in Christ, changing lives through education, and empowering a community is how you, through your prayers and support, are blessing the people of Zambia.

•    Pray for Charles and Sarah as they serve Christ by helping meet the needs of the people of Zambia in Jesus’ name.
