NightLight Ministryhas become a reality. As we stepped forward in faith, God began to provide incredible opportunities. Immediately we were providing emergency care for two children whose mother was working nights. Soon after that, we met "N" who was new to the bars and very afraid of what was required of her. She has now left the bar and is making jewelry.

 

We decided to put off outreach until we had something more secure in place. That day Annie received a phone call from a girl we had been visiting for 5 years. She had just quit work and was asking to come and work with us. It was an incredible answer to prayer. We joke that it is not, "If we build it they will come." (Field of Dreams) but, "they are coming, let's get building!" It is very exciting as well as daunting as we face huge challenges. Without God of course it would be impossible but with God we are seeing miracles take place. We feel we should have six months operating expenses in place before we actually sign any lease, but ministry is already taking place and we are operating out of our homes (and sometimes McDonald's!) as we train women in alternative skills.

 

In John 1:5, we read, "In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness but the darkness has not understood it." Over the years many have seen glimpses of the light but have not understood it. It is our desire that through NightLight the women and children of the Nana area will come to understand how this Light can bring them abundant life.

 

NightLight Ministry will take light into the bars through outreach. It will also provide a safe place for the women and children to come for counseling, job training, employment, education, health care, emergency intervention and discipleship.

 

Please join us in prayer and praise for the continuation of ministry and for the "building" of the ministry framework. We are so aware of the need to be covered in prayer and we consider all of you who pray with us to be partners in this ministry. Your prayers are also candles lighting the way, making the hands-on ministry possible and successful.
