Dear Friends,
I know many people have been praying and wondering how things have turned out for my mom today.First of all, the surgery went well in that all of the tumor was removed. The surgery took about 2 1/2 hours and then she spent and hour or so in recovery before going to neurosurgery intensive care. She will be there for a day or two before being moved to a general ward for several days. She is swollen around the right side of her face and head and has quite a bit of pain. The doctors don't want to give her much medicine for the pain because they want to see how alert she is so she's not very comfortable right now. Also, the tumor was near the nausea center of her cerebellum so she is experiencing a lot of nausea and says she is most comfortable not moving or talking! The doctors also confirmed that the tumor is a metastasis of her breast cancer.
So, today I spent the day with friends praying, fasting, singing hymns and reading scripture...in three languages!God is amazing and generous and wonderfully merciful.I want to thank each of you for your thoughts and prayers today. Please keep praying for a speedy recovery. She will be off work for a month so we will get to spend a lot of time together when I go home on the 15th.You are each wonderful and special people to my family and me and I continue to thank God for the blessing of knowing each of you as a dear friend.
Love in Christ,
Kristy
