Gospel Olympics Imphal, India

“We plan to bring a few hundred youth to Imphal, Manipur State to celebrate the peace and unity in Christ”. Anderson Tokbi shares about the exciting upcoming event of the Gospel Olympics on October 6-11, 2009. “We are going to have wonderful fellowship and fun time of games and sports. We will also have prominent speakers in the Gospel Evening to tell our friends about Jesus.” Anderson adds. The people of Northeast India struggle with tribal and political tension. The Gospel Olympics is an effort to build bridges between youth of different tribes, and to help them gain better understanding of each other. Anderson is the Youth Secretary of the Karbi Anglong Baptist Convention. He works closely with the youth secretaries of the other five conventions of the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI) that represents 250 tribes. The youth leaders form the Baptist Youth Fellowship, which is supported by CBCNEI and American Baptist International Ministries.
