Has cambiado mi lamento en baile. Lamentaciones 5:15
You have changed my mourning to dancing. Lamentations 5:15
We are dancing this week because we’ve been given the green light to return to Costa Rica! (Picture Salsa by way of Footloose) This has been a great year to be in churches and at conferences, retreats and lots of meals. Churches and individuals have responded with genuine interest, faithful prayers and generous giving. It’s been good, but we’re itching to return to Costa Rica and dive into ministry there. So on July 2 we head back. God is good!
In the meantime we are packing, cleaning, and trying to say good goodbyes. We said a final goodbye to a dear saint from First Baptist Port Angeles who died this week. Helen Marshall was a gifted and spunky lady through whom Christ shone. One of her many gifts was leading the church family camp in the “Chicken Dance.” So, according to her request, we danced it as her memorial service. It turns out Baptists can dance after all! It was great fun and brought a mixture of laughter and tears. We trust that Helen’s mourning has been turned to dancing.
Thanks to all of you who have given or pledged to our ongoing support.* It is your faithful and consistent giving that allows us to return and continue serving.
Please pray now for:
*Packing and cleaning
*Good goodbyes
*Ongoing funding for our ministry
*Jamie’s summer camp job and return to college study in the fall
*Safe travel and good times with family
*The ABC Biennial meetings in Pasadena, CA
*Our reentry in Costa Rica
*July work groups coming to CR
*Seminary classes upon returning
Keep Dancing!
Gracias,
Gary
*June is the last month for new donors to have their gifts or pledges of $200-$2000 matched. See the website for more information.
