Seeds Sown in Prayer

Greetings from North India,

There was no snow this weekend after having snow falls several weekends in a row and there seems to be a warming of the temperature. Spring cannot be far away.

School re-opened about 10 days ago after a two-month winter vacation. It is wonderful to have the students back. They bring the buildings and surrounding area alive with their energy and excitement. There were only nine new students this time. Do pray for them as they settle and make the adjustment to a new school. Seven of them are boarders and also adjusting to being away from home. February can be a difficult time to enter—it's halfway through the school year.

Recently the community celebrated the wedding of a graduate whose parents have been on the staff for some time. A number for former classmates of the groom came to share in the celebrations. Among them were two young people I had had the pleasure of teaching a number of years ago. One of them was regularly involved in the Friday morning Bible studies, which were held in my home. The two are now husband and wife, he from India and she from another Asian country. It was a joy catching up with them after a long time. 'Seeds' were planted in the lives of these, and other young people, while they were students here. Some of you prayed for the Friday morning Bible studies and the students who were attending them. Those 'seeds' planted so many years ago, have been nurtured by others and are now blooming. The couple are now involved in full time Christian ministry in an urban area. Yes, the ministry on the mountaintop does make a difference.
