Wow, what a year it has been for us here on home assignment. It's gone by so fast! We've really enjoyed our time reconnecting with family and friends. We've also had our share of struggles, but through it all God has been so faithful.
One of our biggest hurdles
this year was having to raise funds for our support in a very short
amount of time. When Michael and I first heard about it, we thought
it was hopeless. But God had it all under control (as usual)! We just
got a call from our mission headquarters letting us know that we are
well beyond our targeted amount for our fund-raising and we get to go
back to Congo! What a miracle!!!
We wanted to share this good news with you all as soon as we could so you could celebrate with us. Besides, you're all part of that miracle. We are truly amazed at how so many people are giving toward our support, even in these tough economic times. This has been a big lesson for us, that not only is God faithful, but his people are, too. Thank you for your faithfulness and generosity.
I have a couple of prayer
requests, if you don't mind. First, if you could just keep us in your
prayers, especially our kids, as our time here winds down and we work
on all the things we have to get done before we leave. But most
urgently for me, as part of my physical exam, I had to have a
mammogram. Evidently there were some funny spots on it so I had to
have some follow-up tests run. We're now waiting for the results.
Please pray that the tests come back clean and also that they come back quickly. This is literally the last thing we need to get done before we can return. I keep reminding myself that the same God who raised all that support money can also handle this little miracle for me. He is so faithful!
Thank you so much for your prayers and your sacrificial giving toward our support. May God richly bless you!
Yours in Christ,
