“Mira que te mando que te esfuerces y seas valiente; no temas ni desmayes, porque Jeová tu Dios estará contigo en dondequiera que vayas” Josué 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for Yahweh your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

After months of praying, preparing, preaching, and fundraising, the moment has FINALLY arrived to head to El Salvador. I will be leaving for El Salvador on July 30th. The next few days will be a flurry of packing, sorting, and saying “hasta luego” to family and friends here in Oregon. THANK YOU to each of you who have encouraged me and walked with me as I have prepared for this new ministry. Thank you to each of you who have given gifts of support. Because of your generosity I am able to begin the next phase of saying “yes” to God’s call in my life.

As I reflect on the past months in the northwest I am especially grateful for:
*The gift of time with family and friends
*Many fantastic outdoor adventures in the beauty of the northwest
*Warm welcomes and new friends in many churches here in Oregon

I will arrive in El Salvador just in time to attend the Reunión de Pastoras where women pastors from Central America and the Caribbean will join together Aug. 1-4, 2009 to encourage one another, explore new ministry tools, and share their unique call to ministry.

Would you join me in praying for:
*Travel safety and wonderful fellowship for the pastors participating in the conference Aug. 1-4
*FEBES (Baptist Federation of El Salvador) as they prepare to for my arrival and as we all develop new relationships.
*Individuals in Zacatecoluca who will host me and make sure I am well taken care of during the next month as I transition to life in El Salvador
*Good goodbyes here in Oregon
*My family
*Successful packing and de-cluttering
*Courage and strength in the transition

With great excitement,
Kim
