Recently our fellow missionary, Lauren Bethel, came to visit us here in Congo. We spent a full week touring CBCO women's programs in Kinshasa. Even with a week's time we were unable to see them all. We observed literacy training programs, nutrition centers, AIDS awareness and counseling programs, ministries to street children and small income generating programs. This is not to mention all the banquets we were forced to eat when we arrived at each location. Lauren was able to give lots of advice and counsel to the women based on her work with women's programs around the world.

The most exciting work for me to see was the brand new program for young unwed mothers at Mitendi Women's Center. There the young women are being taught life skills that will help them to care for themselves and their family in the future. We were all so encouraged to get just a glimpse of all the Lord is doing at Mitendi and in Kinshasa as a whole through these women.

Please pray for these incredible women in Congo who are looking beyond their own difficult circumstances and poverty to minister to others in need.
