GRADUATION DAY 2009

The culmination of every academic year is the presentation of diplomas to students who have completed their course of study.  Six students, from three different denominations, graduated on June 28, 2009, from the Bible Institute at the Evangelical Cooperative Center (CECO) in Kimpese, Democratic Republic of Congo.

I presented a 2-quart thermos bottle as a prize to each of the three students’ wives who made the honor role in the Women’s School.  They’ll be graduating next year when their husbands finish at the Bible Institute.

Pastor Esther Luhunu Mahema, General Director of CECO, presented diplomas to the graduates. She’s the daughter of Pastor Samuel Mahema, who was assistant director at the Bible Institute during the 11 years I was director (1985-96).

Pastors surrounded the graduates on the stage for a prayer of dedication.

Pray for each of these new pastors, that the Lord will enable them to do great things for Him!  And pray for the new first-year class that will be coming into the Bible Institute in September!

Your faithful prayers and support enable the Bible Institute to continue training pastors, especially for rural areas in the Congo where many villages don’t have pastors.  Many thanks from all of us, to all of you!

In Christ’s service,

Wendy
