Praise the Lord! The Lord is Risen, Alive and Working in our world today. Easter brings that to us in a powerful way and it is too bad it doesn't happen several times a year.We wish that all of you could have shared in the joy we experienced on Easter Sunday: - as you too have had a part in bringing 5 people to the point of baptism. You have prayed with us as Brasit, Nong-Yao, Umpai, Niam and Naa have moved into a relationship with the Lord and are at the point where they want to make a public confession of their faith.

It was a beautiful addition to our Easter morning service to see these people go through the waters of baptism and acknowledge Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior in this public way.In all we had 6 baptisms as Tom's son Flame also decided to declare his faith in a public way.We had started at 5:00 am with a sunrise service so it was still cool when we had the baptisms in an outdoor open tank.We are moving into the hot season though, and by the afternoon it was hot and muggy.

We were excited as we chatted with them the week before and listened as they told us of how Jesus was real in their lives. It is a privilege to be on the group that does the baptism interviews because we get to hear their faith stories first hand.It is interesting to hear what they mention. One of them mentioned Jan's English classes as a first contact with the gospel. The firmness of their commitment is exciting.

It may seem like we should have a big church now, and the church is growing, but you get to hear about each person many times: we tell you when they first start showing an interest in the gospel, when they start to grow as a Christian, when they make a profession of faith, when they face trials and when they are baptized. We thank you that you are with us through it all.

Coming into the end of April we will have Vacation Bible School, a youth all-nighter, a music camp and special English classes.A group of Bible College students will be coming up to help with some of this. This is the long school break now and we are getting extra people coming around. We are also getting wet as this is the water festival time and people are exuberant in their participation and encouraging all to be involved.

We have started working on turn over, as we will leave on U.S. and Puerto Rico Assignment in a few months. Two church members have been selected to take our place on the Income Generation Committee and are starting to work. The weaving project is expanding at the same time as it is being turned over and new sewers are being brought in.
