Dear Friends:
In a few short hours we will leave Payamengrai, after 4 years. It has been a good 4 years where we have seen God working in the community where we have lived.A number of people have made commitments and are now baptized members of the local church. We have personally been blessed as we have lived in this rural community and felt the warmth of community acceptance.
This past week has been sad as we have been given farewells by our neighbors and students. But we look forward with joy as we see the Christian community growing and well accepted in the local community. We praise God for this and thank-you once again as your prayers have seen Sit, Ek, Na, Niam, Umpai, Ning, Yoaw, Won, Chai, Sam, Berm, and others join the family of God here.
Last month we asked you to pray for Niam and Umpai as they were being threatened with excommunication from their village about 7 kms. away.God has answered our prayers and all of a sudden the problem passed.Praise God.
Many of you have come and visited and been part of the ministry in a hands-on way.Others have been helped through prayer and financial support and together we have seen God work.
It is time for us to go and after some meetings later this month we will head first to the US and then to Australia for a time of home assignment. We are hoping we can catch up with many of you in this time and share with you in more depth of what God is doing here.
As we leave here we would ask that you continue to pray for the fellowship here in Payameng Rai.Tom and Noi Siangproah will continue to lead the church and value your support in this way. Pray that they will have wisdom from God as they seek to find culturally sensitive ways to share the Good News.
May God richly bless you.
Love,
Jan and Larry
