World Mission Offering provides the largest single source of funds to support IM’s mission around the world. The offering is promoted in September and October in churches throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Individuals and churches may also contribute all year around.
WHY IS WMO IMPORTANT and WHO DOES IT HELP?
• Most of the world yet needs to know the love of God.
The worldwide body of Christ is in urgent need of your help to reach out and invite people to come to Christ. We can be encouraged that an estimated 2.2 billion people now identify themselves as Christians. However, 4.4 billion (2/3 of the world’s people) do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Your gifts help 16 missionaries work full time to lead people to faith.
• The global church needs trained leaders.
The church in the majority world is growing rapidly. It urgently needs leaders adequately trained in order to equip the millions of new believers for the work of ministry! Your gifts help 32 missionaries work full time to train church leaders.
• Hurting people need relief from their suffering.
The global economic crisis is pushing the already poor and struggling people of the world to the brink. Their needs range from basic health care, sanitation, rescue from exploitation, food and refuge to elementary education and job training. They count on the help and hope you provide through your missionaries and partners. Your gifts help 64 missionaries work full time in cutting edge ministries to human need as they present the Good News of Jesus Christ.
