Stan Zimmer, founder of Zimmer Foundation has been leading teams to China since 1994.  They were warmly received by their government hosts when they went in October, 2009 and felt that their ministry was much appreciated.  Close relationships with officials continues to grow.  The rapid economic growth in China was evident from the growing wealth they observed not only in cities and suburbs but also in poor rural areas.

The team provided 16 full scholarships to deserving university students majoring in English.  Zimmer Foundation worked with the scholarship committee of a university to award scholarships to students from low income families.  Quite often, the scholarship recipients are the first in their families to receive a college diploma and to teach in rural schools.

The goal of this non-profit organization is to bring holistic services to the poor rural areas in China.  As a result, a team would go twice a year to bring encouragement to the University students and rural medical teams.  If medical personnel are available, the team will take supplies to give care to rural residents who cannot afford normal medical services.

The days were long and busy but Stan and his team were ready for this as they were prepared spiritually, emotionally and physically and had many supporters who prayed for them.
