This is what I have heard the Bolivian people say the past few days since President Mesa has resigned. The situation it is getting worse every day. Bolivian people are going through one of the worse situations that has happened this year in La Paz.

The President couldn't continue in his position since he cannot make anyone happy. Everyone is fighting for their rights. But what is right at this point? People that have nothing to do with this situation are the ones that are suffering as a consequence of all the conflict. For two weeks the city of La Paz has been facing demonstrations of the people that don't agree with the president's actions and decision.

Yesterday was the worse day in La Paz when the army had to stop the demonstrations since they were causing to much disturbance to the city during the day. The protesters didn't listen causing the army to start a fire, which made a lot of damage. The worse part was when the peasant miners used explosives to attack the army. The situation turn bad and many people were hurt, especially those that had nothing to do with it.

People are living very insecure at this point. They don't know what is going to happen next.Yesterday and today we had "Paro Civico" or "Civil Strike." There is no school, no transportation, nothing is open, even though there has been some business that have opened to serve the community, like small stores, markets, etc., but unfortunately they have been robbed and attacked by the protesters.

Thank God the situation in Cochabamba hasn't been as bad as La Paz. There has been demonstrations and strikes but not too serious. At this point we don't know yet what will happen here in Bolivia. This is why we are asking you to please pray for the situation and that God will guide the congress to elect a new president and to answer the requests of the Bolivian people.

In Cochabamba, we are safe at this time but we can not drive to Santa Cruz or La Paz due to the road blocks. At this time we are safe and we have seen the University Students making some kind of demonstrations but nothing similar to La Paz. Bolivia could become polarized and this may be the verge of chaos but we are praying for the other possibility: A quick call for re-elections by the congress. We are expecting within a week there will be some resolution made towards a better Bolivia. Let us all pray for this better Bolivia that all Bolivians are hoping for.

May the Lord Bless you richly,

The Morales family serving to Bolivia.

It is a better life because of Jesus!
