Greetings from the city of the "mojo isleño (a typical food of fish with special sauce) that is from Salinas, Puerto Rico, where I am based for my home assignment year.
By the grace of God I have been at all the events of the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico. I visited several churches talking about and sharing on the mission work in El Salvador. At the retreat of the youth of Puerto Rico in September 2002 a group of young people accepted the challenge of considering mission work. That gives me hope for the future Puerto Rican ministry.
The result of that sharing has been a total commitment to the churches without comparison. This past 2002 the churches of Puerto Rico gave approximately $210,000.00 to mission. Thank God for Puerto Rico's ministry.
I will have the privilege of preaching at the convention of the churches of Puerto Rico that starts on March 5, 2003. Then I will travel to Florida to preach in a few churches, and also at the convention of the Spanish-speaking churches of Florida that meets in Daytona also in March 2003.
I send you my greetings and warmest wishes; thank you for your prayers that sustain me.
Love in Christ,
Rev. Dr. Magda Aguirre
