The summer passed in a flash, and now fall is fast approaching. Our two boys have been back in school for one week now, and have enjoyed every minute. We are thankful for their love of learning and their enthusiasm for school and life here in Bulgaria.God has truly answered our prayers by providing a mostly smooth transition time for them—from being "farm kids" to being "missionary kids."We praise God that International Ministries is committed to each missionary family, and that each family has a choice in the education of their children. We feel we have made the best decision possible for our children.A.J. and Nathan attend the Anglo American School here in Sofia, and are privileged to go to school with children and teachers from 30 different countries around the world.A.J.'s third grade teacher is from Australia, and Nathan's first grade teacher is from England. It will truly be an "international" education for them.As parents we appreciate the feeling of community the school provides, and the opportunities for friendships.
Tom and Terry will be continuing full-time language study through most of this winter. After that time we will continue to study part-time as language learning is a never-ending process!Part of our transition into full-time ministry will occur this fall and winter as Tom and others from the Baptist Union of Bulgaria select agricultural projects to begin next spring. Please continue to pray for this new work here in Bulgaria, and that God's hand will lead every step of the selection process.
As those of you involved in American Baptist Churches know, this is the time of year when the World Mission Offering (WMO) is taken.Every dollar given to the WMO is used to advance God's Kingdom throughout the world by supporting International Ministries' annual budget.Overhead costs for the offering are covered by International Ministries' operating budget and are kept under 8%.These are times of financial changes and challenges for International Ministries. The declining stock market, a weak economy and stagnant charitable giving have all been contributing factors. This is where you come in.As difficult as it is to ask for money, our serving in Bulgaria is made possible by your gifts to the WMO.During this time we ask that you prayerfully consider your contribution to the WMO.Our ministry here in Bulgaria, and the ministries of our 150 American Baptist colleagues around the world depends on your generous donations.
For those of you who are not members of an American Baptist Church, but would still like to support our ministry you can send a check, indicating that it is for the support of Tom and Terry Myers to:

Please pray for:
- Increased giving to the World Mission Offering to meet current needs and to expand our global outreach.
- God's continued guidance in the selection of agricultural projects here in Bulgaria.
- Our family as all four of us begin our fall semester of learning.
- For the Bulgarian pastors and churches as they minister to a people who have little hope for the future.
One year ago the United States and the rest of the world was shocked by the events of September 11th.It has been inspiring to see how people and churches reached out to help those in need.As the events of 9/11 are remembered around the world, and as each of us pause to reflect on the changes in our world, it is our prayer that together we can share with the rest of world the true hope found only in Jesus Christ.
Shalom,
Tom, Terry, A.J. and Nathan Myers
