Dear Friends,
For this edition of our journal we want to share with you a thank you letter we recently received from one of the women who received one of our project grants this past summer.
Hello,
Greetings from Dobrich, Bulgaria, from Racho and Veska Chenkovi.
We cannot find words to tell you about our great thankfulness to those brothers and sisters who have given away part of their income to be sent to us. For us, those are truly wonderful people to whom we are grateful from the bottom of our hearts.
The money came to us only through the grace of God. Both my husband and I were very desperate because two years in a row the harvest we had was very poor mainly because the dry weather conditions. What was harvested we couldn't sell because of the bad economical situation. So we were staying at home, praying and dreaming of something to happen, so that some money may come in the family and to be able to plant our fields.
And the miracle happened: the Lord had heard our prayers. One day in the church Maria (Biser and Maria Ovcharov are the pastors at Dobrich Baptist Church) made announcement that members could apply for help in agro projects. I was the first who filled in the forms and received what I hoped for. Every two weeks my husband and I would go to our field to look at the sunflower plants and we were so happy to watch them grow! Despite the dry summer, the sunflowers were big enough for harvesting. Although the yields were not high at all, our piece of land was among those that made better crop than many.
With part of the profit I am going to help my church - Dobrich Baptist Church, and with the rest we will prepare a small wedding for our younger son, Nedko.
Once again, from all our hearts we say a big 'thank you' to the Lord and to all those good people around the world.
Veska
Our family recently had the opportunity to again visit Dobrich and talk to those who received project money this past year. We were again awed by the generosity of these grateful people. They are truly thankful. Thank you for your prayers and gifts. They are truly appreciated.
Please pray for:
- Veska and her husband Racho, who is not a believer, but continues to ask Veska about her faith.
- Our family as we travel to Colorado to spend Christmas with our families.
- The continued development of agricultural projects in Bulgaria.
- The teenage orphans to whom Terry is teaching English, especially Mario and Veska who both have one more year of high school and will then have to leave the orphanage and make their own way.
Shalom,
Tom and Terry Myers
