Group from Puerto Rico Helped Construct the Temple and School in Las Cocinas, San Miguel

A group of 20 persons visited El Salvador from the Iglesia Bautista de Jerusalén in Mata de Platano, Luquillo, Puerto Rico on June 4 to 12, 2005. The pastor Rev. Luis Berrios and the leader John Bithorn visited the eastern side of El Salvador with a mixed group of youth and adults for building the temple of one of the Group from Baptist Church of Jerusalem in Mata de Platano Luquillo, Puerto Rico.missions started after the earthquake of 2001.

The group worked hard to collect the money for that project. The temple will be used for the school of the Caserio las Cocinas until the - Minster of Education can build up the school in the future for the children of that area. The mission field will have the worship there also.

The land was bought with a gift from the First Baptist Church of New London, New Hampshire. This church has a deep concern for the education of the children of this area and in the past have visited El Salvador and built a house in that area with the collaboration of FEBES and the New Salem Baptist Church of San Miguel. The 3,330 meters will be divided in three; one part for the temple that is now under construction, another part for a health clinic, and the rest for the school. The volunteers of the church and the school are working together to finish the building.

The group from Puerto Rico helped in construction, they distributed medicines for Distributing medicines.the community and had a beautiful time with the children of the school where they gave a class for care of teeth and health care. They also gave their gifts to the children and had fun with them with piñatas.

I am so proud to have a group of sisters like our brothers and sisters of Jerusalem Baptist Church that help so much in the mission work.
