Again much has happened since our last prayer letter in December. We have updates on the literacy work, the agricultural work and Miriam's health. The peanut and corn harvests have been good. That will help with protein deficiency and give some income to local families. In appears that the next mission trip to Congo to work with the Noyes will be planned for 2008.It is also probable that Ed and Miriam will be in the states for a short period of time during World Mission Campaign in the fall.We can give thanks for all of these blessings.

In December Miriam was diagnosed with fluid-filled fibro cysts. The cysts can grow rapidly but are benign. In January Miriam went to South Africa for additional examination and confirmation that things are OK.It appears all is OK.As of this writing that is not confirmed.

·Pray that Miriam results are definitely benign as is believed.

Miriam informs us that the most intensive time for literacy activity is following the harvest in December and January until field preparation, which comes during our summer season.Currently leaders are being prepared.

In April, May and June will be the more intensive training times.

·Pray that the training period through April will train effective trainers.

·Pray that in April through June the actual program will teach many to read and understand what they read.An effective learning process will enable many to read the Bible and also have better control over their lives so that others can't take advantage so easily.

There are some encouraging things happening on the Agricultural scene. Twelve out of 32 varieties of peanuts received in 2003 are looking very good.

·Pray that the best varieties will be developed so that the Congolese of the area can have adequate protein in their diets and have extra income to send kids to school and do other things.

Since the elections last year, the European Union apparently has resumed its cooperative development programs and is moving to implement an oil palm program in Bandundu.Lusekele is in Bandundu province.Lusekele has been working with farmers in the development of new varieties of palm trees and working toward the processing of oil.

·Pray that these two activities might come together to improve the lives of farmers and villagers. The life of villagers in Congo is very difficult.
