Since 2001, Drs. David and Laura have been serving remote rural communities in Nicaragua. David is an internist and Laura is a family physician and both have training in Public Health. They work to bring health, hope and healing to the impoverished and vulnerable people of Nicaragua through AMOS - A Ministry of Sharing.
The Parajon's medical ministry includes deworming campaigns, disaster relief, services to people living with HIV/AIDS, and community sustainable preventive health care programs through the training and support of local health promoters. These promoters staff clinics in their communities to diagnose and treat the most common illnesses, teach nutrition and hygiene, and coordinate diverse community-oriented projects to improve health and prevent disease. Thanks to the health promoters, there have been significant reductions in the number of deaths among children and women in their communities. David and Laura have also been receiving short-term mission teams that work in construction projects alongside village members.
