Refugee House-Alma Rosa I
Praying for them-Refugee House
Women in hall of hospital waiting for medical attention
The last weeks have been of caos not only in Haiti but also in the Dominican Republic. We are ONE Island and anything that happens in Haiti, it happens in Dom. Rep. too. We share the same Island. We have been receiving wounded haitians thru the border via Ambulance or via Helicopters directly to the Dario Contreras Hospital in Santo Domingo. After released from hospital they go to refugee houses and then back to Port au Prince, Haiti. Also, many volunteers and teams come daily to Las Americas Airport in Santo Domingo and from here we coordinate their trip to Port au Prince thru buses, partners or individuals.
We visit the hospital as frequently as we can and the refugee houses. We arrange to give each one of them a "duffle bag" where they can put their personal things like: soap, clothes, medicines, etc. They came with nothing, now they can take a least a bag and clothes with it. Many churches, friends and organizations have make possible these visits and bags for haitians. I want to thank: The Sanabria Family from the Iglesia Cristiana Discipulos de Cristo from Puerto Rico, Iglesia Bautista de Humacao, PR, Iglesia Bautista El Redil, San Cristobal, First Baptist Church Wyoming, OH and First Bapitst Church St. Albans, WV, and many others.
Next week we will start visiting Haiti with the Good Samaritan Hospital of La Romana to distribute food and basic needs to the people there. Keep us in your prayers and keep supporting Haiti and Dominican Republic.
