One of the ministries the Baptist Convention of Baja California Sur asked us to do when we arrived in La Paz was to coordinate a worship service in English. For the past year and a half we have been holding an ecumenical worship service in our home at 9am each Sunday morning. It attracts both residents of La Paz, and visitors to La Paz.Mexicans, Americans, and Canadians have gathered together. This past week we received a letter from a couple who spent two months in La Paz as part of their sailing adventure to Mexico. We share their letter so you can get a better glimpse of the joy in this aspect of our ministry.----David and Joyce Reed

To The English Speaking Church in La Paz:

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, by whose blood we are saved and by whose spirit we are nourished through the fellowship we have with one another.

Bud and I have been blessed during our time here in this city.We have been greeted with the love of Christ and blessed by the faithfulness of its people.Never did we ever think that we would be able to spend the holidays among believers and celebrate as fully as we have been able to do this year.Blessing after blessing, grace upon grace and it all flows from the hand of God to those who love and serve Him.Each and every one of you had had a hand in providing this wonderful experience for us.It is nothing that any of you have done specifically, but it is the Spirit moving you all to serve and work in the love of Christ in all that you do.It has been our great joy and privilege to participate with you as you worship the Lord and to work with you, as we were able during our time here. There are few places where the spirit of the Lord is present in such a powerful manner. You, my friends are a testimony to the Lord's presence. In all that you do and say, He is glorified and that is the attraction.May it continue as it is, and that you all continue to grow in faith and grace.

We will fondly remember our time here: the music, the laughing, the working and playing together for the community. But most of all the memories of how the Lord worked in this place and how He leads his people through the path of life with all its crooks and crannies. When trouble visits, it is not with despair that you face it but with great confidence in the God of the Universe and His ability to handle and work through His people as we are obedient to his call.I have seen churches that wallow in their troubles, but you never took your eyes off the Lord for a minute when troubles were presented. You have glorified the Lord throughout the difficulties knowing that He was in control and in charge.Thank you for this marvelous experience. We will certainly miss all of you very much.

May God bless each and every one of you as you continue to be faithful to His call.Press on for the prize we have in Christ Jesus until the day of His return.

In Christ's Love.
