Mitzie Mackenzie Place Dedication

The Chinese Church and Center in Philadelphia (CCC&C) will celebrate the dedication of the Mitzie Mackenzie Place this Sunday, March 28. Harry Leong, the center director of the church, shares his excitement with the congregation and the Chinatown community, “For His glory and our blessing, Mitzie Mackenzie is honored and recognized by the City of Philadelphia. Spring Street is also now Mitzie Mackenzie Place. Although the signs have been up since January, we chose the spring to have a street dedication. The event is on March 28th 1: 15 pm-3pm.  We will have a short ceremony followed by a lunch reception in the church playground. This is a great opportunity for our church to see the ways God has worked in the life of our former Center Director and the fruits of the relationships she has built over the 65 years of service in the community. Come out and enjoy!”

Mitzie is a former American Baptist home missionary. She passed away in May 2009, but her life continues to impact the church and the Chinatown community. CCC&C is a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Association, and a strong supporter of US and overseas mission. International Ministries personnel Walt White and Kim Brown are recent speakers of the church’s mission events.
