This is the testimony of George Harlow, a member of the Vinto Baptist Church, Vinton Ohio mission team that served Grand Goave March 2010:

I did not know what to expect during my preparations to come to Haiti.  I assumed I would be working and giving to the Haitian people.  It is great to be used by God to help others.

What I did not expect was to actually receive from the Haitians!  I went to Sunday morning services and was completely blown away!  

The Haitian people, more specifically the Baptist church of Grand Goave, taught me the meaning of surrender.  These amazing people, most of whom lost everything they had, worship in a manner more powerful than I could ever imagine.  

God moved me.  He spoke to me.  This is how I want you to worship.

As the congregation sang “I Surrender All”, they did!  When it comes to true surrender, the Haitian people get it.

Imagine that . . . I came to help God’s people.  What I did not know was that God would use the Haitian people to help me in my own walk with Christ.  May God bless the nation of Haiti, the Haitian people, and the congregation of the Baptist church of Grand Goave!
