As you may know, Estela teaches a children's Sunday school class at the New Haitian Mission Baptist Church each week, so whenever we're not scheduled to be someplace else, we typically attend Sunday morning services at New Mission. Dan often gets called out to preach at other churches in the Consortium on Sunday mornings, however, and when he's not preaching, we try to visit a few of the Consortium churches each month on a rotating schedule in order to become better acquainted with the work of our national partners here in the Bahamas. In order to simplify our lives, though, we often do much of our visitation during the Sunday evening and mid-week services. On the island of New Providence, where we live, they currently have eight Haitian congregations and six Bahamian congregations that are affiliated with the Mission Baptist Consortium of Churches. So far we have visited every single congregation at least once, and, consequently, we’re getting a better idea of the ministry needs and objectives of each individual congregation.
