We have been busily involved in a number of new ministries since January, and we'd like to give you a brief overview of what we've been up to lately:
1) MINISTRY TO PASTOR'S WIVES -- Since the beginning of the year, Estela has been trying to meet regularly with the wives of the Haitian pastors.Through regular fellowship and discipleship, Estela hopes to mobilize the wives to minister more effectively in their churches and to strengthen the women's ministries in the Haitian churches.
2) ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) -- We have recently started an ESL class for Haitian immigrants that is meeting on Thursday evenings at Emmaus Baptist Church.Estela teaches the beginning students and Dan works with the intermediate students.
3) EVANGELISM TRAINING -- The leadership team at New Emmanuel Haitian Baptist Church has invited us to conduct a series of evangelism training workshops in order to help them develop an evangelism program for their church. We have already met with them for the first of the bi-monthly sessions that we will conduct over the next several months.
4) SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER TRAINING -- The teacher training workshops that we began conducting at the New Haitian Mission Baptist Church in the fall have finally concluded.Estela plans to continue to be involved with teacher development on an informal basis according to the needs of the church.
5) CURRICULUM REVIEW -- Dan is working with the theological faculty at Atlantic College to update the curriculum for the bachelor's degree programs in theology, counseling, and Christian education.
6) PREACHING -- Dan continues to respond to preaching invitations from local churches as his schedule permits.Upcoming speaking engagements include New Direction Haitian Baptist Church -- March 17, New Emmanuel Haitian Baptist Church -- March 24, and New Mission Haitian Baptist Church -- April 21.
We appreciate your continued prayers for our ministry.
