Greetings,
Enclosed is our summer speaking schedule.We especially look forward to meeting many of you at the various conferences that we will be attending this summer.You'll also note that there are a few weekends that remain unscheduled here and there.Not many, but a few.We're often asked if we ever take time off from traveling and speaking.Rest assured that after nearly five years in the Caribbean, we definitely plan to spend some time camping in the Colorado Mountains this summer.
In the past, many readers have complained that we don't send out newsletters frequently enough.This is true.We've heard your complaints.And now we're finally doing something about it.We've recruited Eileen Schneider and Gary Thompson from Crossroads American Baptist Church—our home church here in the Denver area—to help us out with communications.Eileen is going to be our prayer coordinator and Gary Thompson will be our communications coordinator.So what does that mean for you?Eileen will write up our prayer requests and post them to this list at least once per month and more frequently if needed.In fact, some of you may remember getting Eileen's first post just a few weeks ago.Gary will be keeping track of our whereabouts and what we're up to and then keep you informed through our monthly newsletters.Of course, that doesn't mean that we won't be writing anymore or that you won't ever be directly hearing from us again.It just means that Eileen and Gary will help us to pick up the slack so that in the months when we don't have time to write, you still stay informed and can keep praying.
Actually, this change is part of new program that IM is implementing known as missionary partnership networks (MPNs), which in turn are coordinated by missionary partnership teams (MPTs).Gary and Eileen are simply two members of a larger group of people who serve as part of our MPT. That's another story altogether.Gary will be telling you more about that in a future newsletter.
