On August 4th we invited the missionaries who serve in Mexico to give us their “on the ground” perspective of the surge in drug violence in Mexico.  The following are prayer requests we received from American Baptist missionaries Chuck and Ramona Shawver who live in Mexico City.

We seriously read and listen to the news and prayerfully hold up our dear country of service, Mexico, to God. We pray for the Mexican people, for the government, for those that are analyzing the situation and trying to make things better. We pray for the United States of America and the drug culture and money and guns from there that feeds the violence next door. We pray that there are some solutions to this huge problem that come from both north and south of the borders--and that the borders themselves will be healed and restored.
