Faith Sibairo
Whenever I have the opportunity to teach, I try to do it faithfully. But, honestly, sometimes it is easier than other times. This week is one of those times.
I'm finding it easy to teach with faith at Berean Safari this week, because Faith is right beside me. In fact, Faith is doing about as much of the actual teaching as I am.
Faith Sibairo and her husband Andrew are Kenyan missionaries. After several years in university student ministry in Kenya they are now serving in neighboring Tanzania with with the Navigators.
It is a privilege to come alongside African leaders like Faith and encourage them as they use their gifts and hone their ministry skills. We are having a great week studying Scripture and discovering together what it means to follow Jesus in our various settings. Each of the participants is, like Faith, someone already engaged in the service of the gospel. It is wonderful to know that the impact of what we are learning together will be multiplied many times over as these leaders return to their work throughout the continent.
I am writing this on Wednesday evening, Kenya time. After 3 very intense days of concentration on Scripture, tomorrow we hope to appreciate some of the beauty of God's good creation. Then it will be back to the books--and, primarily, back to the Book--on Friday and Saturday. Please pray with us, that the time we are sharing will be used by God's Spirit to enable each participant (certainly including the faculty!) to walk by faith--whether or not we find ourselves close to Faith!
Safari is the Swahili word for journey. Thanks for your prayers and gifts that make this journey possible!
Blessings,
Stan
