J.D. and Rhonda have been endorsed to serve as missionaries in partnership with The Unión Bautista Boliviana. They will serve in theological education for both lay leaders and pastors. Their primary focus will be to aid in development of leadership in the areas of theology, planting new churches, and beginning to develop new ministries in the southern part of Bolivia.

J.D. and Rhonda have long felt a call to cross-cultural work. They explain: “About five years ago our church became a part of Mario and Iris Morales’ Missionary Partnership Network and since then the thought of finally taking the step seemed much easier. We prayed about it and felt God confirming in our hearts what we had known for years, so we began the process to follow the call.”

J.D. is presently the Pastor of Community Ministry and Media at the South Parkersburg Baptist Church (SPBC) in Parkersburg, WV. Rhonda is a registered nurse with past volunteer experience with Kim Brown in Thailand. They have three children, Grace (11), Abigail (8) and Nathanael (5).

J.D. writes: The summer of 2010 has been filled to overflowing with activity.  Raising your own support is tiring, but I find it has been a fulfilling time as well.  Let me explain.

As we have shifted into the summer, a few things have changed for us.  First, I (J.D.) have moved back to 3/4 time at the church I serve (South Parkersburg Baptist Church, Parkersburg, WV) to allow me more time to go around and work on raising support.  So far we have been able to share God's mission in Bolivia about 15 times in these 2 months with more to come.  We have shared in our church, in other churches, with friends and family, and in our region's Camp Global.
