How far was I from what it really meant: home assignment year! Since July 4, 2006 when I arrived home in Puerto Rico it has been a non-stop traveling through the US. What an experience, what a year! I had the opportunity to visit many of the churches that have supported my ministry in the Dominican Republic for the past 4 years. Talking about missions, opportunities, experiences, preaching, white cross, women ministry, youth and kids ministry, etc. From North to South and from East to West, from heat to cold, from cold to snow, many churches have heard about Dominican Republic and how can they be part of this experience.
For me has been very refreshing being able to see these people at their churches and their churches having the opportunity of meeting me in person. No more a picture, but a face! It was very fascinating to see a persons face when they see my picture of my prayer card and then they see me in person sitting in the front seats waiting for my part and you see them telling each other: is this her? The one in the picture? Oh, but she is so young!!! That really makes you feel good! Or when a kid comes up to you with your picture in the hand and looks at you twice and then asks you: is this you? I love this!
Many thanks to all the churches that have invited me to be part of their missions’ week, special event, missions’ dinner, etc. Many thanks to those pastors that have let me use their pulpit to preach the gospel and tell the good news about missions in the Caribbean. Thanks to all for your support to missions and missionaries. I count with each one of you in the next 4 years again. I should be back in the Dominican Republic by June 2007. My calendar is already getting filled, are you one of the teams? If not, you still have time and there is space for you. Blessings to all and please keep me and the ministry being done in the Caribbean in your prayers.
