You can now connect directly with mission-in-need around the world through American Baptist International Ministries’ new Global Mission Projects opportunities.  More than 30 projects-in-need are now available for your church to adopt.  To see the list of projects and pick one that touches your heart go to http://www.internationalministries.org/projects.

All projects listed have been identified by IM missionaries as worthy and greatly needed.  Right now, you can choose from projects such as Girls Clubs in Chile, planting trees in Congo, purchasing a truck for the eye clinic in Haiti, building a woman’s shelter in India, and many more.  Your gift will go directly to support the project, and you can keep up-to-date on its progress by electing to receive periodic email updates.

"We are excited about this new and engaging way for churches to make a difference,” commented Dave Worth, IM’s Director of Development.  These opportunities were created in response to many church requests to get involved in praying and raising funds for a single project.

Project sizes range from $50 to over $10,000.  Churches and groups can choose a project to support based on their own interests in mission.  Each project is managed by an IM missionary or partner.

Currently, more than 30 projects-in-need are featured on the IM website. Additional projects will be added each week, with the newer opportunities listed first.  You can also find projects listed with online missionary profiles.  Likewise, projects can be looked by country and by Ministry Focus Area in IM’s “Where We Serve” drop-down menu.

Each project overview provides information about the ministry as well as ways to help, such as praying, receiving email updates, giving of your financial resources, and sharing the need with others.  Each overview also provides a downloadable flyer that you can distribute in church and to your friends and family.

Each project can be supported by one church, or many churches can get involved.  If your church would like to “adopt” a specific project as your own, please contact Chris Marziale chris.marziale@abc-usa.org to make the appropriate arrangements.

The new Global Mission Projects page is online at http://www.internationalministries.org/projects, or you can select “Projects” at the top of the International Ministries homepage.
