In August, Rev. Ty Choate of First Baptist Church, Red Bank, NJ and his team of seven worked alongside pastor William Cardosa in Florianopolis, Brazil for evangelism.  The team was in homes, at rehab centers, in the church, on the street, and at the park to do their ministry.  Thirty seven people prayed to accept Christ as Lord and Savior!
The team did over sixty home visits and counted more than 200 people who they prayed with and who heard the Gospel message.  Every team member led someone to the Lord, and grew in boldness and in faith and each day of ministry added to the excitement and involvement of the hosts.
Team members came back with a renewed vigor to share the Gospel and to do what God has called all of us to do.  It disturbed Ty that many people had never heard about Jesus.  He was acutely aware of the urgency needed to share the truth of Christ.  He was surprised by Igreja Bautista De Campeche, a church of 75 – 80 people, who trusted in the Lord to do great things!
The team is sharing the mission experience on Facebook and gave testimonies when they got back.  The team hopes to go back to Florianopolis next Spring or Fall.
Ty has been preparing himself for the trip for about six months through constant prayer, making a good effort to stay healthy, and getting help from the church and other team members.  To prepare his team, Ty used Going with God Toolkit and Short Term Mission Leaders Training Manual, both from International Ministries.
