Lea ministers as a nurse at the Kwai River Christian Hospital (KRCH) located in rural Thailand near the Burma (Myanmar) border.

Lea writes: I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me and given me strength. He counted me faithful putting me into the ministry. My ministry is reducing the number of deaths from Tuberculosis among non –Thai Migrants in six border and adjacent provinces. This wonderful message of God is one of the encouragements and I always treasure in my life. He is faithful for his word, for trusting me for this ministry.

I thank God for all the people linking me in prayer, and sharing their blessings undoubtedly. I know God has a purpose and plan for all these patients whom we are working with. Though they are refugees or displaced people we were able to help them in some ways. Hla Aung is one of our TB patients and he lives on the Burma side of the border. He has 3 children and the source of their income is to cut wood in the jungle to make a charcoal that they can sell to buy their food.  Our DOT partner has to cross the river in order to get into their house to give the medicine. It was hard especially this rainy season to get there.  Our DOT partner is not only medicating them but also share the word of God to them.  Once a month we go for a mobile clinic at the Three Pagodas to follow up our TB/HIV patients who cannot come to the hospital because don’t have an identification card.  There is a checkpoint that the military won’t let them cross the border.

I was selected to participate in The Union’s International Management Development Program course on “Budget Planning and Project management which will be held at the Royal Benja Hotel Bangkok on October 11-23 2010.  Accommodations, meals and tea/coffee breaks have been arranged by the union. International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease has their head office in New York. The course is paid by the union which is 2,000 Euro.
