Fall is here, and in Congo planting season has arrived. The second rain arrived almost a month ago. Second rain is planting peanuts. Most fields should be planted already. In addition 15,000 improved palm seeds arrived. The Noyes will be coming to the U.S. in early October for a period of fall deputation. Here are some prayer requests:
1. For Ed and Miriam that travel arrangements will come together for a safe trip to the states and safe travel on deputation. Pray that this time in churches will be helpful not only to develop a prayer base but also financial support for them and their work.
2. A timely and effective distribution of the recently received palm seeds.
3. There have been some problems with existing e-mail addresses, particularly the MAF address. Some e-mail is not coming through. Please try renoyes@gmail.com. Pray that the new e-mail will work OK.
4. Praise the Lord for the new pump we prayed about in July. Spokane Valley Baptist Church raised $2,000 for a new pump. The pump should be in Kinshasa within a couple of weeks. Pray that the pump will arrive within the two weeks.
5. The Lusekele team made a trip to Kiyaka, the national research station, to see what they are doing and to see how Lusekele may collaborate more closely with their research program. Plans have been made for Kiyaka and Lusekele to do parallel trials with peanut and cowpea varieties. Pray that this collaboration will work well and that researchers at Kiyaka will appreciate this Christian center working together with them.
