Junio es un mes de múltiples celebraciones: celebramos nuestro primer año de ministerio en España, nuestro segundo Día del Padre en 2011 (pues España lo celebró en Marzo), y la bendición de poder ver a much@s en Puerto Rico durante la bienal…
También celebramos Pentecostés: celebramos la coparticipación entre nuestras IBPR con nuestra convención hermana en España, la Unión Evangélica Bautista de España, y cómo hemos visto el Espíritu de Dios, dado en Pentecostés, trabajando en nuestros hermanos y hermanas mientras servimos.
Celebramos los ministerios de la UEBE: Junio es su mes de énfasis en misiones nacionales con varios eventos para avanzar en sus esfuerzos evangelísticos. UEBE está comprometida con la educación y en Junio el Seminario en Madrid tendrá graduaciones. Aula XXI, en Dénia, también tendrá graduaciones. Aula XXI es un esfuerzo de ABC (Associació Baptista Certesa—Asociación de Iglesias de la Comunidad Valenciana) para preparar su liderato en ministerios de música y adoración. Se reúnen un sábado completo al mes por nueve meses y se encaminan al quinto año de ministerio.
Comenzando el año académico 2011-12, los Cursos de Formación que teníamos en Dénia dos martes al mes se unirán al formato de Aula XXI, un sábado completo al mes. Anticipamos el regreso de participantes actuales y que otras personas en el liderato laico y pastoral se unan para buscar mejorar su efectividad en las oportunidades de ministerio que desarrollan en sus comunidades. Ora por cada participante, su renovación durante el verano y por un gran año académico en el nuevo formato de Aula XXI.
Celebramos la fidelidad de Dios a Su pueblo en la comunidad de Lorca tras sus dos terremotos del 11 de Mayo. La demostración abundante de amor, cuidados y recursos de nuestra familia bautista ha sido un bálsamo para quienes reconstruyen desde los escombros y las cenizas. El Pastor Francisco Martínez, PIB Lorca, dice: “Vemos la mano del Señor en cada lugar y cada circunstancia. … Estamos agradecidos por todos los hermanos y hermanas y el apoyo que recibimos de todas las Iglesias que se han comunicado, y sabemos que nos aman y se preocupan por nosotros.” (Nuestra sociedad misionera asignó una beca pro-esfuerzos de rescate de $10,000 de nuestra ofrenda Una Gran Hora para Compartir y estableció la cuenta “OGHS-Spain Relief” para seguir bendiciendo las familias en Lorca.)
Celebramos nuestro 1er año en España regresando a Puerto Rico para la bienal: regresamos al lugar de donde salimos, para celebrar Su bondad, Su fidelidad y Su amor abundante. Nuestro Padre Celestial da significado a nuestro diario vivir y Su Espíritu nos enseña y recuerda Sus directrices para la misión de Jesús. Anticipamos visitas agradables contigo, compartiendo cara a cara lo que El, con Su apoyo a través tuyo en más de una manera, nos ha permitido ver con nuestros ojos y experimentar en nuestros espíritus. ¡Qué bendición ser tu familia misionera en España! Miramos al futuro con la certeza de Su discernimiento, sabiduría y provisión. Que tengas un Feliz Mes del Padre, honrando a nuestros padres, especialmente al Padre Nuestro que está en los cielos…

We also celebrate Pentecost: we celebrate the partnership between our ABC-USA/PR churches with our sister convention in Spain (the Baptist Evangelical Union of Spain) and how we have seen God’s Spirit, given in Pentecost, at work in our sisters and brothers as we serve together.
We celebrate UEBE’s ministries: June is their month for national missions’ emphasis with several events to boost their evangelistic efforts. UEBE is committed to education and in June their seminary in Madrid has their graduation. Aula XXI, in Dénia, also has their graduation. Aula XXI is ABC’s effort (Associació Baptista Certesa—Valencian Community Churches Association) to prepare their leadership in the music and worship ministries. They meet one-all-day Saturday a month for nine months a year and are heading toward their fifth year of fruitful ministry.
Beginning with the academic year 2011-12, the leadership training and workshops we were having in Dénia two Tuesdays a month join the Aula XXI format, one-all-day Saturday a month. We look forward to having many of our current participants and others who will now be able to attend these workshops as these lay leaders and pastors continue to seek ministry opportunities in their communities. Please continue to pray for these participants, for renewal during the summer time, and for a great academic year in the new Aula XXI format.
We celebrate God’s faithfulness to His people in the community of Lorca after the two earthquakes of May 11. The outpouring of love, care, and resources from our ABC family to them has been quite an encouragement for these who are rebuilding from the rubbles and the ashes. Pastor Francisco Martínez, FBC Lorca, says: “We see the hand of the Lord in every place and every circumstance. … We are grateful to all the brothers and sisters for the support we are receiving from all the churches that have been in touch with us, and we know they love us and are concerned about us.” (Our mission society designated a $10,000 grant for relief efforts out of the One Great Hour of Sharing and established the OGHS-Spain relief account to continue blessing these families in Lorca.)
We celebrate our 1st year in Spain by going back to Puerto Rico for the biennial: back to square one from whence we were sent, to celebrate together His goodness, His faithfulness, and His abundant love. Our Heavenly Father gives meaning to our day to day lives and His Spirit teaches and reminds us of Jesus’ mission guidelines. We look forward to visiting with many of you and sharing face to face what He, through your faithful support in more ways than one, allows our eyes to witness and our spirits to experience. We are blessed to be your missionaries in Spain. We look ahead with the certainty of His discernment, wisdom, and provision. Have a blessed Father’s Day month, honoring our fathers and especially our Father who art in heaven…
