Go Global -- Go Fish!

On behalf of all the IM missionaries and staff I express our deep appreciation to Charles Jones for his ministry as our acting executive director. Since mid-2004 he has led us with an unwavering faith in Christ and commitment to Christ’s mission. He has blessed us by his warm pastoral heart and consistent witness. His service has exemplified IM’s core values of faithfulness, integrity, servanthood and humility -- values by which we seek to make decisions and evaluate our work.

These core values were not selected at random, but rise out of our mission principles in Go Global.

IM’s Faithfulness is rooted in prayer and scripture. It is directed to Christ Jesus, to his church, and to the creation he is working to redeem and make new.

We stress Integrity in partnership with Baptists and other Christians as well as in cooperation with a wide range of church, nondenominational, and secular agencies. We show it in the quality of personnel we appoint for service and in our care for them and their families. We remain accountable to participating local churches for our stewardship of the resources (people, time, knowledge, money and relationships) that we share together.

Servanthood is the path on which Christ is leading us. We are committed to follow his example by meeting human need, sharing the good news of forgiveness and wholeness, and identifying with those we serve, giving special priority to “the least of these” among us.

We need Humility because our actions do not always meet our values. Past accomplishments aren’t always sufficient for present challenges, and change is difficult. We confess our fallibility and our need of one another in the mission to which Christ is calling us.

Thank you, Charles, for helping us to Go Global (our mission) and Go Fish (our values)!
