September is a month of many celebrations and many challenges… We trust to see God at work, to surprise us in our day to day, and to confirm His plans for our lives.

This month the Theological Seminary of the Baptist Evangelical Churches in Spain (ST-UEBE) in Madrid begins a new academic year. Please pray for the professors and seminarians to begin a new year trusting the Lord for each of their devotions, classes, and experiences. May there be men and women “ready for either” (service or sacrifice, as on our mission society’s seal) in UEBE’s churches and beyond, even before they complete their studies.

This month the European Baptist Federation (EBF) is having their 2011 Annual Council gathering in Nazareth, Israel. The EBF Council is invited to celebrate together with the Baptists in Israel the 100th Anniversary of Baptist beginnings in the Holy Land. This special meeting takes them to meet our Baptist brothers and sisters who are following Jesus and living out their faith, trusting Him, on the same piece of land where He and his disciples proclaimed God’s Kingdom.

This month the ABWM in Spain (UMMBE) have their 36th annual session with national and international keynote speakers. The Women in Spain continue to trust and serve in multiple areas, mainly with the children and adolescents, as well as in missions both national and international, as well as various social action ministries in different areas of the country. These Women continually trust and serve their Lord beyond their own strength (2 Cor. 8:2-3).

This month the ABCNJ’s 41st Annual Session celebrates “ministering across generations” (Daniel 4:3)! During this 181st meeting of the American Baptist Churches of New Jersey, participants will be inspired and spiritually strengthened while celebrating new ministry opportunities and the progress in trusting and serving Christ over this past year.

This month, our sister convention celebrates UEBE’s Sunday (last in September). They began this celebration in 2005, beginning with our Baptist principles and each year they encourage the Churches and pastors to put the emphasis on joining efforts, goals, and objectives, through generations and in love, to build the believers, trust and serve the neighbor, and proclaim and extend the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This month we will enjoy a time of rest. It will be shorter and in a different location than planned… We talked about the “agains”… Our residence extension is still in the works, so our plans had to change. Regardless of where we go out on vacation, we continue to trust our Lord, as Psalm 3:3 invites us: “But you, O Lord, are always my shield from danger; you give me victory and restore my courage.” We trust God, not because He pleases us, but because He knows best. Even when our plans for September changed, we know His plans for us are perfect and always for our best.

We are not surprised with this hiccup, after a blessed time in Puerto Rico, Xàtiva and the Basque Country, where we have learned of many ministry opportunities. It is natural that things like this happen. We trust and serve the Lord within His plans.

Septiembre es un mes de muchas celebraciones y muchos desafíos… Confiamos ver a Dios en acción, sorprendiéndonos cada día y confirmando Sus planes en nuestras vidas.

Este mes el Seminario Teológico de la Unión Evangélica Bautista de España (ST-UEBE) en Madrid, comienza otro año académico. Oremos por el cuerpo docente y cada seminarista que comiencen un nuevo año confiando en el Señor en cada devocional, clase y experiencia. Que hayan hombres y mujeres “listos para todo” (servicio o sacrificio…) en las iglesias de la UEBE y más allá, desde antes de completar sus estudios.

Este mes la Federación Bautista Europea  tiene su reunión anual del Concilio en Nazaret, Israel. El concilio ha sido invitado a celebrar junto a Bautistas en Israel el aniversario #100 de los comienzos bautistas en la Tierra Santa. Esta reunión tan especial les lleva a conocer herman@s que siguen a Jesús y viven su fe, confiando en El, en la misma extensión de tierra donde El y Sus discípul@s proclamaron el Reino de Dios.

Este mes la UMMBE  en España celebra su sesión anual #36 con la participación de conferencistas nacionales e internacionales. Las Mujeres en España continúan confiando y sirviendo en múltiples áreas (la niñez y adolescencia), así como en misiones nacionales e Internacionales, y varios ministerios de obra social en diferentes áreas del país. Estas Mujeres siguen confiando y sirviendo continuamente al Señor más allá de sus fuerzas (2 Cor. 8:2-3).

Este mes la sesión anual #41 de las Iglesias Bautistas de Nueva Jersey (ABCNJ) celebra los “ministerios por generaciones” (Daniel 4:3)! Durante esta reunión #181 de las ABCNJ, quienes participen serán inspirad@s y fortalecid@s espiritualmente a la vez que celebren nuevas oportunidades de ministerio y su progreso al confiar en y servir a Cristo este último año.

Este mes, nuestra convención hermana celebra el Domingo de la UEBE (último en Septiembre). Comenzaron esta celebración en 2005, celebrando nuestros principios bautistas y cada año alientan a sus iglesias y liderato pastoral a enfatizar los esfuerzos, metas y objetivos comunes, a través de las generaciones y en amor, para fortalecer cada creyente, para confiar al servir al prójimo y proclamar y extender el Evangelio de Jesucristo.

Este mes disfrutaremos de un tiempo de descanso. Será más corto y en un lugar diferente al original. Hablamos de los “otra vez”… La extensión de nuestra residencia está en proceso, así que tuvimos que cambiar nuestros planes. Aunque salgamos a otro sitio de vacaciones, confiamos en nuestro Señor, como el Salmo 3:3 nos invita: “Mas tú, Jehová, eres escudo alrededor de mí; Mi gloria, y el que levanta mi cabeza.” Confiamos en El, no porque nos complazca, sino porque El sabe qué nos conviene. Aunque nuestros planes de Septiembre cambiaron, sabemos que Sus planes son perfectos y siempre para nuestro bien.

No nos sorprende este hipo, tras un tiempo bendecido en Puerto Rico, Xàtiva y el País Vasco, donde hemos visto tantas oportunidades de ministerio. Es común que cosas así pasen. Seguimos confiando y sirviendo al Señor en Sus planes.
