Inspection, by Sandy Michael in Thailand

Sandy Michael from Indiana is serving in Chiang Rai, Thailand, teaching in the Family Learning Center/Chiang Rai International School.

In the First Grade room we are in packed like sardines!  So it is great to pop over to the double sized Kindergarten Room where we spread out working in groups at various tables or an area rug.  Both serve our purposes.

(It reminds me of the year I had 30+ students in the morning and 30 students in the afternoon and two aides at the previous Hatfield building. Remember that Trudy?)

And now I’ll have two aides, from the Netherlands!  They are ages 19 and 20.  Their English is pretty good, but they’ll not be teaching the alphabet or phonics.  Perhaps the kids will teach them!  It’s just another example of life-long learning.

Thanks for praying for the school inspection.  It was quite a challenging day.  The Thai Ministry of Education is giving the school a certificate to be an international school.

They do stipulate that we must be into our new buildings before Nov. 30.  A lot of work still needs to be done on one building and the grounds are a mess!   Mud, red clay mud surrounds everything!  And a pond has developed as well.  The rains need to stop so things can be finished.

This main building is completed.
