Dear friends,

I have a special request and opportunity for you.  But first let me tell you about the amazing people I’ve been teaching.

For the past two months, I’ve taught a course, Creative Teaching Skills, to a group of 15 women in CEDEPCA, a ministry of pastoral care for women. It has been an astonishing experience seeing how God is working in these women, a rich blend of Catholics and Protestants, all deeply committed Christians, ranging in age from 16 to 73. I worked very hard to build trust and openness in the group, which paid off as they overcame their timidity to participate in hilarious skits and to share stories of their own lives. Several are pastors; others teach Sunday school or work with women’s groups. A few work with children in slum neighborhoods; one serves seniors in a nursing home. Some of the women were on deep spiritual journeys, and found the session on stages of faith helpful in defining their experiences. One women traveled more than 2 hours to get to class each week, and retaught everything she learned to a group in her neighborhood.

Who would not be inspired by spending time with such women!

These are the experiences that confirm my call to ministry and make me bold to invite you to participate with me through your prayers and gifts.  I will be honest with you that I have only reached 75% of the support I need.
