David and Joyce Reed, Mexico

 

David and Joyce serve in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. La Paz is 1,000 miles south of the border and situated on the Sea of Cortez. The Reeds serve with the Regional Baptist Convention of South Baja California, Mexico.  They work with pastors and church leaders in new church development and to train leaders through formal and informal theological education.  Their new church development work includes helping the convention to reach out to English speakers in the city of La Paz.

 

They write: The Baptist Churches of Southern Baja hold their annual meetings every year during the end of November. This year, Crossroads—the ministry to English-speaking people—hosted the meetings. … Everyone rallied to the cause, and all who participated commented that they came away blessed. Certainly our Mexican brothers and sisters enjoyed getting to know the American and Canadian community in a more intimate manner. On Saturday evening, Crossroads led the worship service. As much as possible, the service was bi-lingual: music, testimonies, and Scripture readings. We shared the story of Crossroads from the beginning to the middle to the present day through personal testimonies and pictures.

 

• Pray for Joyce and David as they work with leaders to establish new congregations, as they train leaders and as they minister to the English speaking ex-patriot community in La Paz.
