Dear Praying Friends,
We have several special prayer requests for you at this time. The Health Project for Tribal people staff will be holding a vacation Bible school Oct. 11-13 for the kids from the House of Love and the House of Blessing day care center as well as other children. The theme this year is from John 15:4 "Abide in me, and I in you..."
Please be praying specifically:
- for the HPTP staff as they prepare for VBS
- for good weather (we have had our share of too much rain already!)
- for the hearts of the children to be able to understand this deep truth of abiding with Jesus.
- Kim and the Lisu team have completed a successful trip to China where they shared education details regarding AIDS prevention and treatment. Thirty-four churches attended the seminar and were provided materials that can be taken back to their villages to help prevent further spread of the AIDS epidemic.
Please join us in:
- Praising God for the success of this mission
- Praying for the newly trained people in China
- Praying for the team as they complete their travels back to Chiang Mai
- Chiang Mai was once again flooded last week and the children were again evacuated from the House of Love.
Please pray with us once again for:
- The staff as they clean up and schedule repairs to damaged items
- The health of the children in less than optimal conditions
- The people of Chiang Mai who felt the impact in their rice fields, homes, and businesses
We have been praying for the health of Kim's father. Ray is in his final days and the family has been called home. Kim's siblings and their children are gathered around him at this time. Kim is planning to come home next week after she returns from China and has a chance to evaluate damage from the flood that occurred during her absence.
Please pray with us:
- That Ray's passing will be as painless as possible for him
- For Kim, as she travels home to say good-bye and help settle her father's affairs
- For the family, as they grieve and celebrate the end of Ray's pain
- We want to thank you for being our prayer partners and showing your care of the tribal children in northern Thailand, the poor and sick in Thailand and China, and for Kim and her family.
Ray has passed on and Kim safely arrived home in Columbus Ohio on Wednesday October 12th and is spending time with her family in preparation for her father's funeral. Please continue to pray for Kim and her family as they all work through the grieving process.
