Another celebration!Last month, the Community-Based Rehab Program (CBRP) had a worship service to mark its 5th year of serving disabled tribal people. There was much to praise God for, as staff reflected on how God has led the CBRP and provided for each step and development of the program.Individuals are seeing more opportunity to be independent.Communities are seeing the increased potential and ability of the disabled in their midst, and this increased
awareness has meant increased integration of the disabled into community life. Please be praying for the CBRP as they work to add more educational and vocational training for the tribal people they work with. The staff would also like to have more center-based activities, as well as add new therapy rooms in order to do intensive training with families.Pray for continued funding from overseas sources and continued good cooperation with the Thai government.
Prayer and Praise:
- Praise God Duay Duay has been able to leave the hospital. However, it is very unusual that a person can tolerate the low blood counts that Duay has had for such a prolonged period. Please continue to be praying the doctor can find the right combination of drugs to be able to treat him.Pray also for Duay's comfort level from physical pain.
- Pray for all the children at the House of Love as they start a new school year this month. Also be praying for the house parents—getting 26 children outfitted for school is a big job!
- Please join us in praying for the new school year at the House of Blessing daycare as well. The daycare is now in a new location, and we are praying the teachers will have sufficient space to run their program.
- The end of May the Health Project staff will be looking at a new model called "AIDS Competency."Please be praying for everyone to have understanding and insights how to best use this model to further our work in
AIDS education.
