Thank you for praying for the Burma trip in August.Wonderful relationships were begun—and we have been invited to come back for another teaching seminar in December!We are praising God for the 60 pastors and church leaders that attended one seminar, and 110 students and faculty from a seminary (from 7 different ethnic backgrounds!) that attended the second one.While there is good knowledge about AIDS, their real hunger is to learn how to exhibit Christ's love to persons living with AIDS.

• Please be praying now that God will be preparing hearts of compassion within these many leaders.

And another request—we did teaching about the dangers and risks for young ethnic women from Burma coming to Thailand to work, but the perception of the danger here wasn't fully understood.

• Please be praying for a hedge of protection against prostitution for those women who come here to work.

More prayer and praise

• The next AIDS teaching trip will be from August 27-Sept. 7 in China.We are so grateful for the opportunity to do both follow-up with the people we met with last fall, as well as move into new regions.We will be traveling to four different church centers—some in very remote areas requiring many hours of travel.Please be praying for safety for our team.
• We praise God for the growth of the Lisu church in the slums here (talked about in the June newsletter)—it has now grown to 80 adults and 20 children, and has gotten too big for the current facilities.Please be praying for guidance of where it should move.
• We praise God for the Grace International School starting its 3rd year of having a Saturday program at the House of Love!It is wonderful for both the high school students and the HOL kids.Do be praying for good health—many of the HOL children have been fighting a flu bug (one has even needed hospitalization.)

Did you know:Christmas in September?!

Although the calendar only says September, we are already looking forward to Christmas, because we are beginning to plan for a Day Care Reunion.We will be having a homecoming for the 38 graduates from the last 5 years that are still being followed by the day care program.We hope to have a fun and meaningful Christmas message as well as gifts for the children and their families.If you would like more information about how you could bless these children, please send us a note.
