Our Partnership Together

Thank you very much for your prayerful support of International Ministries and the work of Kim Brown in Thailand. It is only through your prayers and faithful giving that Kim can be a success in Thailand reaching those around her for Christ. As the World Mission Offering is being received this year through American Baptist Churches, we wanted to share a few thoughts with you.

(Note: If you are interested in seeing any of the referenced materials below and do not have access to the information through your church, please send us a request at this email address and we will forward the information. The video is not yet online for viewing, but those capabilities are being researched. If you are not part of American Baptist Churches, the information below will help you understand some support information about International Ministries' missionaries. We hope you enjoy the updates on the success of our partnership together in Christ. )

During September and October, we have the opportunity to encourage giving to International Ministries through the World Mission Offering. The World Mission Offering provides the core salary and benefit support that is required to keep our International Ministries missionaries on the field. The Video presentations for the World Mission offering this year feature the work being performed by various missionaries in Thailand. There is an 8 minute segment that features the work that Kim is doing at the House of Love (the home for women and children with AIDS and AIDS orphans) and also in the slums of Chiang Mai (the city where she lives). We encourage you to show this video to your congregation and small groups to see first hand the people being served in Thailand and their smiles at having the love of God shared with them through International Ministries.

As you contribute to the World Mission Offering this year, we would like to encourage you to direct a portion of that giving to the ongoing support of Kim Brown and other missionaries where you are part of their Missionary Partnership Network. (You can find information about IM missionaries in the missionary profiles you'll find under "International Personnel" at www.internationalministries.org or in the "2006 Guide to Global Servants" included with this year's WMO promotional materials). As members of a missionary's partnership network, we are encouraged through our financial support to provide for the core salary and benefits for our missionary. I believe this support already exists for Kim Brown through your faithfulness. For 2005, our Missionary Partnership giving accounts for 62% of Kim's total requirements for core salary and benefits while the remainder comes from unspecified World Mission Offering gifts.

Directing support through the World Mission Offering will help International Ministries and the Missionary Partnership Networks know where work is required to ensure that all our missionaries have the full support they need from a network of individuals and churches that are also faithfully praying and participating in ministry with our missionaries. In the event that a missionary's full support is raised, International Ministries has the opportunity to work with giving churches to reallocate funds to other missionaries or to ministry support opportunities like the work that Kim Brown performs in Thailand. In Kim's ministry, the cost of funding the Integrated Ministries for Ethnic Minorities Foundation (IMEMF) for the House of Love, House of Blessing, Health Project for Tribal People and Community-Based Rehab Project is over and above her salary. For 2005, our Missionary Partnership dollars received through International Ministries accounts for 18% of the total budget needs for IMEMF project work. Missionary Partnership money received through other sources will be available for communication in January of next year. In addition to project support, please continue to pray for the funding to build the House of Love in a new location. Money has been received for the land and the search for property has started.

Attached with this note is a Powerpoint demonstration regarding our successes as a Missionary Partnership Network for International Ministries and Kim Brown and also some information about how Specifics for the work on Kim Brown are used. Please let me know if you have any questions.
