March in Thailand is always a month of transition—the weather changes from hot to hotter.School is out, and so the children at the House of Love and House of Blessing transition into new routines. Our Health Project staff are working on new material for seminars, and developing creative ways to capture the tribal youths' attention. We also have a new transition, as we ready the land for our building. One thing that never changes—our need for your prayers for the work going on here in Thailand!Thank you for coming alongside IMEM with your ministry of prayer!
Praise Points
- The House of Love (HOL) was the featured ministry at the Chiang Mai Community Church for a special Valentine's Day service.Thank you for praying for us—the sharing and singing went well, and many people have told me how blessed they were.Several even gave financial gifts to the HOL—what an encouragement!
- Health Project staff received encouraging statistics from their efforts with tribal youth at the juvenile detention center. In the past, tribal youth would be rearrested in a few days after their release. However, once completing the HPTP program, none of those youth have been arrested again! Praise God!!
- We thank God for our interns this quarter, and the practical help they are giving us in the office. One student is rewriting our newsletters in Japanese for our friends in Japan, as well as, working on updating the brochures and website in English. The other student is taking our information on child protection policies, and helping us to draft a policy suitable for IMEM's different projects, including the House of Blessing daycare and the House of Love.
- Join us in thanking God for the grant of $10,000 from the Bellevue Heights Foundation to help furnish the new House of Love!
Prayer Points: March will be a month of travel for me.
- First will be a trip to China (March 1-11) with the Lisu team as we go to participate in AIDS seminars at two Bible schools. Please pray for safety in travel, and for a good response from the students. We will also be using some of our newly developed material on what the Bible says about sexuality and relationships—pray as the team shares!
- A trip to Cambodia is scheduled March 20-23.The nurse manager and occupational therapist from the Mae Sariang Community-based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) and I will be visiting another community –based program in Phnom Phen in an exchange program.(Their staff will visit CBRP in the future). Please pray for good sharing of ideas and good problem-solving skills as we build a relationship with their project.

Graduation! Two of our children from the House of Love graduated from Kindergarten the end of February. What a joy to celebrate these significant times with the children!
