The world is a big place! And God loves all of it. Since the time of Jesus, people have been sharing the love of God in many places and in many ways. But in the last 150 years, mission has changed dramatically. Instead of missionaries primarily from the US and Europe going to Africa and Asia, missionaries are now FROM everywhere, going TO everywhere, telling others about God!
surprising – today, a message can be
sent from Africa to Europe
in three seconds, when 150 years ago, it would
have taken three months! This is an example of
what is called “globalization”, which is the growing
awareness and interconnectedness of people
all over the world.
It’s always happened, but technology and communication advances have made it easier than ever to share information, goods, and services all around
the world. So
why not the Gospel?
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:5-7 (CEV)
We are not preaching about ourselves. Our message is that Jesus Christ is Lord. He also sent us to be your servants. The Scriptures say, "God commanded light to shine in the dark." Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ. We are like clay jars in which this treasure is stored. The real power comes from God and not from us.Click on the resources link below and enjoy the lesson, written by Carrie Cyphers, a graduate student at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
